About Me...
Licensed Psychotherapist
Hi! I’m Jen and I’m a licensed psychotherapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I grew up in Beirut, Lebanon, which is also where I obtained my Bachelors degree in Psychology from the Lebanese American University. I later moved to the United States, and pursued my Masters and Ed.S. degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at James Madison University. Being an immigrant myself has given me a unique perspective on what it’s like to go through life transitions that are challenging, unpredictable, and just downright exhausting.
I have been immersed in the mental health field since early adulthood, during which I have gained experience in working with various populations, including college students, immigrants, forensically-involved individuals, survivors of trauma and abuse, as well as people with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness. I believe that having this diverse background in the field has given me the ability to empathetically connect with clients by utilizing an integrative approach to psychotherapy, instead of a one-size-fits-all method. In other words, I always strive to meet my clients where they are, instead of make assumptions about their needs.

Authentic | Safe | Judgment-Free
Services
Authentic | Safe | Judgment-Free
Those three words are the embodiment of my practice because I understand how rare it is to find such a space in our every day lives. My goal is to provide you with a therapeutic experience that will help you regain control of your life by recognizing the patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that have affected your ability to live life to the fullest.
If we end up working together, you will notice that my therapeutic style is warm and interactive. Clients who are motivated and committed to the process of therapy are likely to benefit the most from my approach. My office, be it in-person or virtual, will always be a safe and judgement-free zone, that will allow you to present as your truest, most authentic self.
Therapeutic Approach
As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I believe that a lot of our current problems are strongly rooted in our past. Along the way, we learn how to cope with life in ways that were probably helpful at one point, but are no longer serving a purpose today. Those unhealthy cycles of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, are difficult to break, especially when we don’t even recognize we’re stuck in one. My therapeutic style will help you learn how your past affects your present, so that
you can break free from those cycles and have a brighter future.
I specialize in the clinical areas of Trauma and Abuse, Mood Disorders, and Anxiety Disorders. I provide a safe and supportive environment that is trauma-informed, to help you process your struggles and concerns at your own pace. I utilize the Integrative Approach to psychotherapy, in which I derive techniques from various schools of thought, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy,
Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse

This therapy group will help you regain control, learn coping skills, and feel empowered as you go through your healing journey.
